Saturday morning

Well, we're on to week two of the plan, and I managed to not bugger up the app timing on my phone this time. Decided not to use the MapMyRun one, and just use the gymboss timer for the intervals (along with Spotify, of course, for the tunes).

All good, all worked well, didn't feel too bad. Walking and running intervals seemed to be the wrong way around though - seemed to spend too many walks going downhill, and runs going uphill. Well, jogs, anyway.

Music by Muse - tricky one, need to get the right tracks to get he benefit. Something quite motivational about Matt Bellamy shrieking "I'm going to make you... a f*cking psycho!" as you pound the pavement!

So back to the couch-to-5k plan. Well, kind of, since the app crapped out on me again and I had to wing it. I'm not even sure the map-my-run plot below is accurate, to be honest. Still, I did my twenty minutes running, and it wasn't too bad.


















Sun was out, sky blue. Have to sort out my timing and application support for next time, when we move on to week two.

Slow, hot... eugh

Was out again tonight then, doubling the number of runs for the year. Took the bold step of eschewing the proven couch-to-5k and taking the oft used, but less successful "Rich knows better" program.

Yeah, about that...


Wasn't fast, wasn't pretty. What it was, was sweaty, mostly running with some walking thrown in. Bit crap really, but pleased I went out - now that I'm back.

Erm, been a while.

So back from a two week holiday on Mallorca carrying a bit more weight than I did when we went. So, warmed up by hitting the punchbag for a few rounds, then back to running!

Well, okay, walking and running alternately. Couch to 5k. I'm sure I could run straight off the bat, but conscious of my knees and decided to start from scratch. Could have gone better - the app I decided to use crapped out during the 5 min warm-up walk, so I kinda winged it on a 90s alternating basis.

All good, feeling good. Let's see if we can keep it up and shift some weight off!

No GPS or tracking on this one, I need to get back in to doing that too.
